One of the most convenient features of modern streaming services is the ability to start watching on your phone and continue later on your laptop or Smart TV. For directories like SportsNest, which host thousands of live TV channels, keeping track of your favorite channels and watch history is essential. In this guide, we show you how our cloud synchronization system works and how you can sync your favorites across all your devices.

The Problem with Local Storage

By default, when you use SportsNest as a guest, the app saves your "Favorites" list and "History" locally on your device.

**On Web Browsers:** It uses Browser LocalStorage.

**On Android/iOS:** It uses React Native AsyncStorage.

While local storage works instantly, it has major limitations. If you clear your browser cache, format your phone, or switch from your phone to your computer, your favorites list is lost.

Introducing SportsNest Cloud Sync

To solve this, SportsNest includes a lightweight, secure cloud synchronization system powered by **Google Firebase**. This system is entirely optional, allowing you to use the app anonymously, but offers great benefits for multi-device users.

How to Sync Your Data:

1. **Access the Account Menu:** Click the Account profile icon at the top right of the screen (on web) or in the navigation menu (on mobile).

2. **Choose a Sign-In Method:**

**Google Sign-In:** One-tap authentication that securely links your profile.

**Email OTP:** Enter your email address to receive a secure 6-digit one-time passcode (OTP). No passwords to remember.

3. **Instant Merging:** Once signed in, the app automatically merges your local guest favorites with your cloud account.

4. **Real-Time Sync:** Any time you star a channel on your computer, it instantly appears in the Favorites tab of your Android app.

Security and Privacy First

We take user privacy seriously. The synchronization system is built with security best practices:

**No Personal Data Selling:** Your email address is used solely for authentication and profile lookup. We do not track your watching habits for advertising profiles.

**Secure Tokens:** Authentication uses Firebase Auth tokens, ensuring your login session is encrypted and secure.

**Easy Account Deletion:** If you wish to delete your cloud profile, you can click "Delete Account" inside the account menu to wipe your data from our servers instantly.
